Dr. Mariwalla is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, an expert in facial reconstruction, as well as a thoughtful aesthetic clinician. Her expertise is in the areas of skin cancer diagnosis and treatment & anti-aging procedures. She is the Founder of Mariwalla Dermatology, specializing in all skin types and treating both pediatric and adult patients.
In addition to skin cancer screening, Mariwalla Dermatology offers a variety of fillers and neuromodulators, as well as lasers for resurfacing, removing stubborn areas of fat, and ridding the skin of red and brown discoloration. The practice also has an advanced laser that can be used on all skin tones for hair removal.
Having been part of the West Islip community for 30 years through her parents (both physicians in the area), Dr. Mariwalla understands the importance of the physician-patient relationship. Prior to starting her own private practice, Dr. Mariwalla was the Director of Cutaneous Oncology at St. Luke’s –Roosevelt and Beth Israel Medical Centers in New York.
Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Women’s Dermatologic Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology (Fellow), the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Growing up in New York, Dr. Mariwalla finished her medical degree at the Yale School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She did a year of internal medicine at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital, and then returned to New Haven and completed a residency in dermatology at Yale, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. She stayed on for a fellowship in advanced dermatologic surgery where she honed her skills as a skin cancer specialist and expert in cosmetic dermatology.
Focusing on the health of the skin, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
