Get to know Sports Medicine Specialist Dr. Jeffrey Liang, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Liang, a fellowship-trained sports medicine specialist, is affiliated with SJMC Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Houston, Texas. He likes to offer his patients the opportunity to be able to recover from their injuries as quickly as possible and be able to get back to the activities that make them happy.

SJMC (St. Joseph Medical Center) Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is committed to providing solutions for injuries and getting patients back to regular activities as quickly as possible. The specialists are experienced in all facets of orthopedic care – orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, degenerative disease, chronic pain, acute injury, and more. They will assess one’s injury and instigate a course of repair and rehabilitation.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Liang graduated with his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1998. He then went on to perform his residency in family medicine at Highland Hospital, University of Rochester, and his fellowship in primary care sports medicine with Methodist Hospitals of Dallas.

Licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Dr. Liang practices with St Joseph’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.

Sports medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and the treatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. A sports medicine specialist is a physician with significant specialized training in both the treatment and prevention of illness and injury.

A family man, Dr. Liang has four grown children. All 4 children swam competitively through high school. In addition, one daughter was a competitive gymnast until she converted to diving in high school and now doves for TCU. They are all active, enjoying skiing and snowboarding together. Recently, he picked up rock climbing.
