Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Andrew M. Speer, who serves the population of Silver Spring, Maryland. Andrew M. Speer, MD, is a Psychiatrist at PsychoGeriatric Services. Dr. Speer is a highly experienced and respected psychiatrist who has been in practice for more than 25 years. His acclaimed career in psychiatry began in 1992 when he graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Upon earning his Medical Degree, he completed a residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, before entering private practice. Dr. Speer is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has a wealth of experience as an adult psychiatrist, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, but he is especially renowned as one of Maryland’s leading geriatric psychiatrists. Conditions that he treats include dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, anxiety phobic disorders, and schizophrenia. He also provides a range of psychotherapy services and medication management. Dr. Speer is known not only for his excellence as a psychiatrist, but also for his caring and compassionate approach to his work, and he is always happy to discuss conditions and treatments with his patients and, where appropriate, their families.
