Throughout his education, Dr. Barnum earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri in 1977. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1980.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
