After completing her undergraduate studies, she attended Meharry Medical College / School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee, where she received a US Army Health Professions scholarship. This scholarship allowed her to serve in the Army, with tours in Korea and Maryland, before completing a General Practice Residency Training in Brooklyn, New York.
Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Townes is a highly respected member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Northern VA Dental Association, the VA Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
