Dr. Townes is an established dentist who has dedicated her career to providing high-quality dental care to patients in the Alexandria area. She is well versed in all aspects of family dentistry, seeing patients from children, teenagers to adults. Her advanced skills include diagnostics, endodontics, restorative, implants, Invisalign and prosthodontics dentistry.

With her extensive experience in dentistry and genuine concern for her patients, she and the entire staff at Floss and Smile, PC are dedicated to ensuring that their patients receive the best possible care. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Townes began her educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Pre-Dentistry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on a full athletic scholarship.

After completing her undergraduate studies, she attended Meharry Medical College / School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee, where she received a US Army Health Professions scholarship. This scholarship allowed her to serve in the Army, with tours in Korea and Maryland, before completing a General Practice Residency Training in Brooklyn, New York.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Townes is a highly respected member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Northern VA Dental Association, the VA Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens.
