A highly trained pediatrician, Dr. Saunders is in practice at Virginia Hospital Center (VHC) Pediatrics in Arlington.

VHC Pediatrics is dedicated to its mission to provide a medical home offering comprehensive, affordable, quality healthcare in a culturally-sensitive environment to children, birth through 18 years of age, living in Arlington County with family incomes at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level. Located in a convenient, accessible location in Arlington, it features a full-time staff including pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses, care coordinators, and behavioral health professionals.

Back in 1994, Dr. Saunders earned her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the Children’s National Medical Center in 2007.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
