Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Mohammad A. Ibrahim, who serves patients in Lakeland, Florida. 

Dr. Ibrahim is a board-certified hospitalist whose primary professional focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients. He can be found on staff at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center in Lakeland, Florida.

As an expert in the field of hospital medicine, Dr. Ibrahim’s duties include assessing patients’ health, creating strategies to improve or manage patients’ health, as well as introducing habits that promote health into patients’ lives. In addition to his work at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, he is affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in the area, including Brandon Regional Hospital, South Bay Hospital, Shands Starke Regional Medical Center, and Winter Haven Hospital. 

The doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Ibrahim received his medical degree from Instituto Superior De Ciencias Medicas de Villa Clara in Cuba. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. 

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists.
