Graduating with his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1990, Dr. Callerame completed an internship in internal medicine at the same educational venue in 1991. He then went on to complete his residency in neurology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in 1994, and his fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology at the University of Miami in 1995.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
