She then went on to complete her residency in pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 1998, followed by her fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1999. 

In her spare time, Dr. Gabriel enjoys listening to audiobooks, indoor cycling, hiking and spending time with family and friends. She is also a fan of movies, live music and Broadway shows.

For the purpose of advancing her efforts, the doctor remains a member of the American Medical Association and the Obesity Medicine Association.
