Dr. Manekar is a knowledgeable and very well-liked physician, mother, and wife.  She has lived in Atlanta for over 20 years.  She completed her Family Medicine residency program from Emory in 2005 and completed her fellowship in weight management with the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA).  Dr. Manekar is a board-certified obesity medicine specialist. Dr. Manekar is a caring and compassionate physician who likes to treat people, not just diseases.  She has over 15 years of experience in taking care of patients.   She has been treating obesity, which can be the root cause of multiple chronic medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, arthritis, reflux, high cholesterol,  joint pains, several cancers, metabolic syndrome, gynecological problems like PCOS, and many more with the latest evidence-based medicine. 

Her mantra is to treat the cause instead of putting a bandage on the disease. Dr. Manekar has been very successful with her treatment strategies, and she is well-liked by all of her patients. She promotes the prevention of obesity, and advocates for those who suffer from obesity.

Dr. Manekar is also a teaching physician.  She enjoys training young doctors (students and residents), physician assistants, and nurse practitioner students during their medical careers.
