Get to know Neuro-oncologist Dr. Jon Glass, who serves patients throughout the State of Pennsylvania.
A highly trained neuro-oncologist, Dr. Glass is affiliated with Jefferson Neurosurgical Associates, working with patients at Jefferson Methodist Hospital, Jefferson Abington Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, and Jefferson Health New Jersey. He also serves as a Professor of Neurosurgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
With a broad educational background, he received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in 1982, and earned his medical degree from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in 1986. He then went on to further his training by completing an internship at Kings County Hospital, and a residency in neurology at the Boston University Medical Center in 1990. Finally, he completed his fellowship in neuro-oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1992.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in neurology through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. Neurologists are specialists who treat diseases of the brain and spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles.
