Dr. Edward Laue leads by service and example both in how he lives and in every action he takes.  His personal and professional mission is to be a part of an organization committed to “Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.”

 Edward Laue, M.D. served as Texas Health Huguley’s first Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer from 2006 to 2021.  As a member of the executive team, Dr. Laue served as a liaison between the hospital administration and the medical staff of nearly 500 primary care and specialty physicians. He oversaw potential improvements to patient care and safety, coordinated physician quality and safety programs, and contributed to strategic planning.  He led the medical staff to meet the medical needs of the community.  During his tenure, the hospital earned the CMS 5 Star award in Quality and it scored a Leapfrog Grade A for 10 consecutive years.

In 2007, he formed Texas Health Medical Associates, an employed physician group comprised of primary care and specialty physicians. He served as the president of Texas Health Medical Associates for eight years.  Dr. Laue started the first formal hospitalist group at Huguley and served as the executive lead for the Sound Physicians Hospitalist Group. 

Dr. Laue served as a member of the board of directors for Community Hospice of Texas for six years.

Texas Health Hospital Mansfield, a nearby sister facility of Texas Health Huguley and managed by AdventHealth, opened in December 2020.  Dr. Laue was named Chief Medical Officer for the new hospital.

In 1988 he opened his first two private practice offices in San Diego, California practicing at Paradise Valley Hospital, rising to chair of the department, and at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center.  Returning to Texas in 2000, Dr. Laue spent six years in solo practice at Texas Health Huguley, where he also was the chair of the department and served as the vice president of the medical staff.  He closed his practice in 2006 to become fulltime Chief Medical Officer at Texas Health Huguley.  


He began his education by receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas.  He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California and completed his internship and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Adventist Health Glendale in California.  In 2013, he completed a Master of Business Administration with a healthcare emphasis from the University of Texas at Dallas, Naveen Jindal School of Management.

 Dr. Laue has participated in hospital-sponsored mission trips, enjoys foreign travel, and has lived in Uruguay and Brazil.
