He then furthered his training with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1980, a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 1992, a residency in nuclear medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1993, and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at Lubbock in 1995.
Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in both internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and geriatric medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. Meyerrose is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
