Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Brian J. Bauer, who serves patients in Teaneck, New Jersey.

Dr. Bauer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with expanse knowledge and unrivaled expertise in joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, and pediatric orthopedic care. Devoted to providing patients with the finest medical attention available, he is a part of the team at Eastern Orthopedic Associates in Teaneck, New Jersey. 

The board-certified physicians of Eastern Orthopedic Associates are at the forefront of orthopedics, providing the most technologically advanced treatment of injuries, with special expertise in sports medicine, hip replacement, knee replacement, and spine surgery. Their goal is to help patients return to their favorite activities pain-free.

With over three decades of experience in his field, Dr. Bauer has admission privileges at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, serving as Chief of the Orthopedic Surgery department, Vice President of the medical staff, and President of the medical staff over this time. Holy Name Medical Center is a comprehensive, 361-bed acute care facility providing high-quality healthcare across a continuum that extends from prevention through treatment and on toward recovery and wellness. 

In addition to remaining at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the New Jersey Orthopedic Association, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). 

A 1981 graduate of the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Dr. Bauer completed his residency in orthopedics at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and then moved to Teaneck. He has served since then and his volunteer activities include multiple medical missions to Latin America over the past fifteen years. He has visited Tela, Honduras up to ten times and has operated on multiple children. Over the last 7 years he has helped set up a Foundation, UNO A VEZ, that travels to Santiago, Dominican Republic on a regular basis to treat pediatric deformities. In 2019 he was a finalist for the HUMANITARIAN OF THE YEAR, by the AAOS national organization.

Dedicated to providing all of his patients – young and old – with exceptional orthopedic care and personable approach, Dr. Bauer has been honored with several awards and recognitions for his clinical expertise. In 2005, he received the  SERGIO Award from the Healing the Children Foundation for his care of deformed children.
