Get to know Family Physician Dr. Stephanie F. Cave, who serves patients in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

A trusted family physician, Dr. Cave tends to patients at her private practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Her special interests are in allergy, autism, ADHD, nutritional medicine, heavy metal detoxification, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia,  bioidentical hormone replacement for women, hormone therapy for men, as well as general health for men, women, and children.

Back in 1983, Dr. Cave graduated with her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She also received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Chemistry from the same educational venue. 

Furthering her studies, she completed her residency in 1986, after which she served on the clinical faculty of the Department of Family Medicine of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP), Dr. Cave is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Furthermore, she is board-certified in functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Well known for her efforts, Dr. Cave has been featured on CNN, has testified in congressional hearings, and frequently speaks around the world on the topic of children and vaccinations. She has also been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2020, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020, 2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2020).
