Dr. Terata A. Kanu spent 14 years in the Air Force, and he is a former U.S. Flight Surgeon. He has deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and has flown over 25 combat sorties. Currently he is the Owner and Medical Director of Superior Urgent Care, a chain of urgent care clinics in the DFW area. He has professional training in Preventative Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Aerospace Medicine.

Dr. Kanu completed his undergraduate degree from Oral Roberts University, where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Biology, Premed. He minored in Chemistry, Theology, and Aerospace Studies. He achieved his Doctorate of Medicine from Meharry Medical College in 2011. After obtaining his medical degree, he completed his internship at the University of Cincinnati, in Internal Medicine, and completed his training in the Air Force to become an Operational Flight Surgeon. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University, and a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Kanu attributes his professional success to his faith in Jesus Christ, who has given his life purpose and meaning, and to the support of his loving family and friends who have encouraged him along this journey. Dr. Kanu loves giving back and has a genuine passion for helping others.

Dr. Kanu enjoys traveling, reading, working out, jazz music, volunteering, missions. In the future he intends to do missionary work and start schools in underserved countries.
