Dr. Whetstone was born and raised in the Midwest. He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in biology from San Diego State University. He then pursued his dream of becoming a dentist by attending the UCLA School of Dentistry, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1996. In order to provide a more comprehensive medical approach, Dr. Whetstone completed a General Practice Residency Program at the Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto. There, he served as chief resident until 1997.

Dr. Whetstone continues his pursuit in providing the highest quality of family care available for his patients. He completes hundreds of hours in continuing education, ensuring that he offers the best quality and the most advanced techniques to his patients.

Dr. Whetstone is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, the Spear Study Club, the Peninsula Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and the Northern California Academy of Dental Research.

For the past several years, Dr. Whetstone has been voted as one of the “Top Dentists” in Palo Alto.

Currently, Dr. Whetstone lives in San Jose with his wife, Valerie, and two sons. Their golden labrador, Riley, is a part of the family as well. Dr. Whetstone’s passion is watching and coaching his two sons in baseball. He is also a big fan of the San Francisco Giants.
