Dr. Chopra is a respected psychiatrist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, particularly in older adults. Since April of 2018, he has been serving as an Associate Professor within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He has years of training-teaching at graduate psychiatry training programs, and has extensive experience in clinical research and administration.
Educated in India, Dr. Chopra graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital in 1992. Upon relocating to the United States, he performed his internship at Thomas Jefferson University and his residency in psychiatry with the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
With a focus on mental health, he is board-certified in general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
