Yvette Liza Kearl, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at LAC-USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. As a senior physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at LAC-USC Medical Center, Liza Kearl serves as the Medical Director and Division Chief for Pediatric Emergency Medicine. In addition to clinical duties, her primary job includes administrative tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the Pediatric ER and as a division chief, to mentor junior faculty. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and a subspecialty fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) and has more than 20yrs of experience working in a Level 1 Trauma center both at LAC-USC Medical Center and CHLA tending to critically ill children. As a seasoned physician, she is passionate about pediatric education, utilizing newer formats such as simulation to improve patient care. Her research interests involve quality assurance and improvement in the Pediatric Emergency Department, and she is passionate about care for children with psychiatric illness.
