On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Barsanti graduated with Distinction from the University of Virginia. He subsequently obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV). After an internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center, he completed his residency in anesthesiology at MCV. He was also the first to complete a subspecialty fellowship in pain management at the same educational venue.
While at MCV, he served as an Assistant Professor, the Director of the Cancer Pain Clinic, and the Co-Director of the Pain Management Center. He was also involved in numerous studies and co-authored several research papers.
A leader in the pain management community, Dr. Barsanti has lectured extensively throughout the country. He currently serves on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee, representing interventional pain management. He also serves as a committee member for the Board of Medicine Prescription Monitoring Program.
The doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology, with subspecialty in pain management, by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care.
