About

Rebecca Kitzerow is a Licensed Acupuncturist practicing in La Center, WA. Rebecca has been in practice since 2006 and evaluates and treats patients using both Chinese and Japanese style Acupucture and Traditional Medicine modalities. As an Acupuncturist, Rebecca completes her evaluations by getting a patient history, feeling pulses and looking at the tongue. Then, very very fine acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points on the body that are uniquely chosen patient by patient depending on the individual presentation. Stimulating these points and activating your individual innate healing ability is how Rebecca treats a wide range of conditions. Many of the bodys systems respond to acupuncture, and it can treat physical pain, digestive issues, help with infertility and women's health, as well as emotional stress and so much more. Rebecca has won numerous Nattie - Natural Awakenings Magazine - consumer choice awards for Favorite Acupuncturist and Holistic Practitioner of the Year, and prides herself on patient-centered care.

  • Where is the acupuncture point for nausea?

One of the most common acupoints for nausea is on the medial aspect of the wrist, called Pericardium 6, but there is no single point for any single thing in Chinese medicine. For each patient, the energetic cause for the symptom is unique, therefore the combination of points required to correct or balance it is also unique and it is rare that just one point will suffice. There are no pressure points that make you fall asleep instantly that is a myth. READ MORE

  • Can acupressure help knee pain?

  • How quickly does acupuncture work?

Most people feel the effects of acupuncture immediately after treatment, but any individual treatment can take 24-48 hours to wear in on a case by case basis. Acupuncture also has a cumulative effect and a course or series of treatments is usually required to maximize results. READ MORE

  • Can you ingest small amounts of essential oils?

Yes, you can ingest small amounts of many essential oils safely, but not all essential oils are appropriate for that. DoTerra has a good blog post to answer some of those questions: https://www.doterra.com/US/en/blog/healthy-living-reasons-to-use-oils-internally READ MORE

Yes! Acupuncture can definitely help you get pregnant and has been well researched for fertility and in particular, for helping IVF treatments be more successful. READ MORE

  • Does acupuncture cure male infertility?

Acupuncture can definitely help with male infertility as well. In some cases, it can be a cure, in other cases, it can help to be sure, but there is no guarantee that it could cure that problem. It always depends on your specific malady, how severe it is, how long you have been suffering, and how well you respond to acupuncture. Essentially, we have to try for a while to see how it works for you, but it's a great modality that can definitely help! READ MORE

  • Do you get immediate relief from acupuncture?

That depends, and is a very good question. If you have pain, you usually have some immediate relief, but acupuncture is a natural treatment and it takes time - a cumulative effect - to get the maximum relief. So, it usually takes a series of treatments to get where you want to go and you should have *some* relief that stacks with each session. READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture help pass kidney stones?

That is a trickier one. I will say yes - Acupuncture is incredibly effective to help reduce pain, increase mobility, increase circulation, and can support kidney help. By helping you manage the discomfort, acupuncture can make passing a kidney stone easier. There are Chinese herbs in particular that can definitely help you dissolve and pass the stone, but acupuncture alone ... I would say that it would be a case by case basis for the acupuncture to actually help you pass it. It can definitely make the passing more comfortable, however. READ MORE

  • Is acupressure good for knee pain?

Yes, acupressure is good for knee pain but Acupuncture is better because it can get directly into the knee joint for deeper relief. READ MORE

  • Does acupuncture help vitiligo?

Acupuncture alone for vitiligo I haven't seen to be consistently effective, though I have seen it help some cases. I would recommend that Chinese herbs are more effective in that case. READ MORE

  • What is the pressure point for knee pain?

The points vary by person, depending on your individual presentation of the pain, not just based on the pain itself, so you would have to see a provider for evaluation to get that specific answer. READ MORE

What do you attribute your success to?

  • My family. My big brother got me interested in Chinese culture, language and martial arts from a young age when we would hang out and play in SF Chinatown when I was growing up. My father always believed in alternative medicine and got me into Taiji and martial arts as a teen, and I grew up watching my mom do Acupuncture - starting when I was 9 - and Western medicine didn't have a solution for a strange and debilitating problem. Where Western Medicine failed, Acupuncture and Chinese medicine made her functional again, something that was very important as she was caring for myself and my 3 cousins (ages 9 to 14 at the time) as a single mom at the time. Acupuncture literally kept my family together, and when I had digestive problems due to an eating disorder in my 20's - Chinese medicine healed me too.
