About

Rebecca Kitzerow is a Licensed Acupuncturist practicing in La Center, WA. Rebecca has been in practice since 2006 and evaluates and treats patients using both Chinese and Japanese style Acupucture and Traditional Medicine modalities. As an Acupuncturist, Rebecca completes her evaluations by getting a patient history, feeling pulses and looking at the tongue. Then, very very fine acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points on the body that are uniquely chosen patient by patient depending on the individual presentation. Stimulating these points and activating your individual innate healing ability is how Rebecca treats a wide range of conditions. Many of the bodys systems respond to acupuncture, and it can treat physical pain, digestive issues, help with infertility and women's health, as well as emotional stress and so much more. Rebecca has won numerous Nattie - Natural Awakenings Magazine - consumer choice awards for Favorite Acupuncturist and Holistic Practitioner of the Year, and prides herself on patient-centered care.

  • Can acupuncture help neuropathy in feet?

Yes, it can but, I will say that I find in practice for this to be pretty hit or miss. Some people respond very well, others not so much; you just have to try and see. READ MORE

  • How do you acupressure your feet?

Acupressure for your feet is more of a foot reflexology question vs an acupuncture question. I would recommend spending a little time on google and youtube to learn some basic protocols, it can be very effective and feel wonderful. READ MORE

  • Is acupuncture good for arthritis in the neck?

Yes! Acupuncture is excellent for arthritis in the neck. READ MORE

  • Is Acupuncture good for stomach problems?

Yes! Acupuncture is excellent for stomach and digestive problems. READ MORE

  • Where is the pressure point for anxiety?

There is no individual pressure point to relieve shoulder pain. Acupuncture is a holistic medicine that looks at the whole body, and any individual issue in relation to the whole picture. The pressure points unique to your anxiety would be different than those for someone else - it would take an appointment with a provider to diagnose you specifically and give you a plan. READ MORE

  • How long does it take for acupuncture to work for pain?

That is highly variable. It can take 1-2 sessions or it could take 18, it depends on how severe the pain is, how long you have had it, and how your individual body responds to the treatment. READ MORE

  • When should I get acupuncture for fertility?

When it comes to Acupuncture for fertility, as soon as you're ready to work on it you should go in. At a minimum, if you just want to support fertility and don't have any known fertility problems, I would go in at least 3 months before you start "actively" trying to get pregnant. Personally - as soon as I started thinking about getting pregnant, I started asking my acupuncturist to start supporting my fertility. I can definitely say - it works! READ MORE

  • How long does acupressure take to work?

Some people respond immediately and for others it can take a few sessions, it just depends on you and how your system takes to the treatment. READ MORE

  • What pressure point relieves shoulder pain?

There is no individual pressure point to relieve shoulder pain. Acupuncture is a holistic medicine that looks at the whole body, and any individual pain in relation to the whole picture. The pressure points unique to your shoulder pain would be different than those for someone else - it would take an appointment with a provider to diagnose you specifically and give you a plan. • How many sessions of acupuncture do you need for knee pain?

It depends on the severity and chronicity of the pain. Could be as little as 2 or as many as 18-20, but I usually start with 4-6 sessions to start and we see how things go. READ MORE

  • Where is the pressure point for your stomach?

There is no individual or specific pressure point. Acupuncture works by balancing a series of meridians or channels in the body, and that balancing is unique to your imbalance which is holistic and not individual-symptom only so that is not a question that can be answered here - you'd need to see a provider to get a specific diagnosis for you. READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture help with knee problems?

Yes! I had knee problems and an ACL repair, and 1 year after surgery (and I got acupuncture every week for a whole year to help recover) I was able to complete a 24 hour martial arts test and I've had no further reinjury - which is rare for athletic women. Acupuncture is great for knee problems, try it! READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture help with stomach issues?

Yes! Acupuncture is excellent for that, and my first experience with Acupuncture was for digestive problems with amazing results. READ MORE

  • How long does acupuncture take to work for back pain?

It very much depends on your case an its severity. It can take 2 sessions, it could take 20, but I would say 4-6 is an average. READ MORE

  • Do I need to rest after acupuncture?

Not necessarily - it depends on what you're getting acupuncture for. I generally don't recommend extremely strenuous activities, like running a marathon, immediately after treatment but you don't have to just rest and be idle by any means. READ MORE

  • What does acupuncture do for your back?

Acupuncture is excellent for your back. It relaxes the muscles, decreases pain and inflammation and improves circulation just to name a few of the things it can do. READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture help with neuropathy in the feet?

Hello, thanks so much for reaching out! Neuropathy in the feet is a hard one. Sometimes patients respond well, and sometimes they don’t see much benefit - it's very much a case by case basis for that condition. If the neuropathy is new we are more likely to make progress, if it is has been chronic for many years at the very least I would recommend giving at least 6 sessions a try before determining that it isn’t helping. Generally speaking, neuropathy related to blood sugar issues and chemotherapy tend to respond better than idiopathic neuropathies (the “we don’t know why you have it, but you do” type of issue) in my experience. No matter what, there’s no harm in giving acupuncture a try - it can help so much with stress, pain and inflammation if nothing else it can help you stay calm and relaxed, and it can boost your immune system. If you have tried many other things and they haven’t worked, it's a good next step intervention that can’t hurt you. Yours in health, ~Rebecca READ MORE

  • Where do you put acupuncture needles for knee pain?

Where the needles go depends on many factors - since Chinese medicine is a holistic medicine, and since energetic channels traverse the whole body, needles don't always go directly in the place where you have pain. Sometimes they go directly into the knee joints, but the can also be placed lower in the calves, in the feet and in the hands because the channels that affect knee pain (and a variety of underlying conditions that relate to knee pain) traverse these areas. Ultimately, the answer is: it depends on you and your overall health picture, not just on the knee pain itself. I hope this helps, keep the questions coming! READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture help kidneys?

Yes, one of my teachers specializes in Kidney disorders and Acupuncture can be very helpful. In TCM the Kidneys relate to your foundational energy, so Kidney issues are very important to address and support. READ MORE

What do you attribute your success to?

  • My family. My big brother got me interested in Chinese culture, language and martial arts from a young age when we would hang out and play in SF Chinatown when I was growing up. My father always believed in alternative medicine and got me into Taiji and martial arts as a teen, and I grew up watching my mom do Acupuncture - starting when I was 9 - and Western medicine didn't have a solution for a strange and debilitating problem. Where Western Medicine failed, Acupuncture and Chinese medicine made her functional again, something that was very important as she was caring for myself and my 3 cousins (ages 9 to 14 at the time) as a single mom at the time. Acupuncture literally kept my family together, and when I had digestive problems due to an eating disorder in my 20's - Chinese medicine healed me too.
