Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Henning who is currently serving patients at his private practice – Henning Dermatology Group – in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Dr. Henning is a decorated U.S. Army combat veteran. He served as Chief of Dermatology for several years at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Henning earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health and Sciences in Pomona, California. He then went on to complete his internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, followed by his residency in dermatology at New York University, where he served as Chief Resident. 

With a special interest in pigmented lesions (moles), Dr. Henning is an expert in dermoscopy. He has authored numerous publications on topics relating to dermoscopy and dermatology. Dr. Henning is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD certifies physicians in dermatology, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology. It is one of 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). Furthermore, Dr. Henning is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Dermatological Society of New Jersey.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. Dermatologists are medical practitioners who specialize in treating conditions of the skin (most commonly acne), sunburn, and skin cancer. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures. Dr. Henning provides the most advanced treatment regimens for chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, chronic hives, and hidradenitis suppurativa.

Dr. Henning is a board member of the Christ Church Nursery School and a camp physician at Cora Hartshorn Arboretum.
