Dr. Hutchinson is a psychiatrist serving Bethesda and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Hutchinson received his Medical Degree (MD) from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1971. He then went onto complete residencies in psychiatry at Sheppard Pratt Health System and Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital.

Dr. Hutchinson is board-certified in psychiatry and neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the public interest and the professions of psychiatry and neurology by promoting excellence in practice through certification and maintenance of certification processes.

Psychiatry is a healthcare profession dedicated to the care of mental health. As a psychiatrist, Dr. Hutchinson diagnoses and treats mental illnesses. He may treat patients through a variety of methods including medications, psychotherapy or talk therapy, psychosocial interventions and more, depending on each individual case. Different medications that he might prescribe include antidepressants, antipsychotic mediations, mood stabilizers, stimulants, sedatives and hypnotics.
