Throughout his academic career, Dr. Aliphas graduated from John Hopkins University with an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science. He then completed a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University. He started his medical training at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with his medical degree in 2006. He completed his internship in general surgery and his residency and chief administrative resident year in otolaryngology at the Boston Medical Center before joining the staff at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. 

The doctor continues his affiliation with the Boston University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology, teaching residents in didactics and various clinical settings. He is board-certified in otolaryngology, including sinus/allergy and otologic disease, by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, which serves the public by ensuring that diplomates meet the standards of training, knowledge, and professionalism through initial and continuing certification. 

Otolaryngology is the oldest medical specialty in the United States. Otolaryngologists, also known as ear, nose, and throat doctors, specialize in disorders of the head and neck, ranging from hearing loss to cancer. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Aliphas enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, as well as playing ice hockey and swimming. In addition to English, he speaks Spanish and Hebrew.
