A renowned medical oncologist with over four decades of experience, Dr. Morris holds many roles, including Co-Director of the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center (UCCI) Lung Cancer Center, Associate Director of UCCI Translational Research, and Director of Experimental Therapeutics. His clinical interests include hematology and oncology, lung cancer, medical oncology, mesothelioma, prostate cancer, and sarcoma.
At the UCCI Lung Cancer Center, focus is being put on the expertise of the region's most advanced lung cancer team on improving survival through early detection, accurate diagnosis, state-of-the-art treatment, and clinical trials.
In regards to his educational background, Dr. Morris graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Biology from the City University of New York, and then went on to earn his medical degree from Upstate Medical Center College of Medicine. Furthering his training, he performed his internship in internal medicine, his residency in internal medicine, his fellowship in neoplastic diseases, and his fellowship in medical oncology at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in IPA Clinical Gene Therapy at the National Institutes of Health.
Subsequently, he attained board certification in medical oncology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
As for his academic appointment, Dr. Morris serves as a Professor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Among the doctor’s hospital affiliations include Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Christ Hospital, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital-Cincinnati, Shriners Children’s Ohio Hospital, and Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Excelling his efforts, his research interests include lung, translational research, Phase I and II clinical trials, experimental therapeutics, immunotherapy strategies, and hematology-oncology.
