His more than thirty-five years of experience in pediatrics and his love of the field ensures that he is not only proficient in his current practice, but fully up to date with the latest developments that the discipline has to offer.
At his private practice, he and his team are always prepared to treat the many diseases and problems of childhood from infancy onward, but prefer, whenever possible, to focus on preventative medicine. Through periodic exams, indicated immunizations, and nutritional advice, their goal is to keep the children of the Central Valley healthy and happy, as well as to provide them with the best medical care available.
After graduating from Occidental College in 1972, Dr. Hernandez went on to earn his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1976. He then completed a three-year residency in pediatrics in Honolulu, Hawaii.
After twelve years of practicing pediatrics in Hawaii, he moved with his family to Modesto and established his current pediatric practice. He also holds hospital privileges at Memorial Medical Center and Doctor’s Medical Center.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). Founded in 1933, the ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certification is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Hernandez examines, diagnoses, and treats children of all ages with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.
