An esteemed urgent care physician, Dr. Carson is the Medical Director of Shore Urgent Care in Somers Point, New Jersey. With a career spanning over 39 years, he has dedicated his expertise to the field of urgent care medicine, offering invaluable services to the community. 

Shore Urgent Care is staffed with  emergency medicine, family medicine physicians, & nurse practitioners with training in everything from obstetrics and pediatrics to orthopedics and cardiology & suturing. In addition, pediatric physician specialists are available to consult at Shore Urgent Care.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Carson earned his medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, graduating in 1984. He then went on to complete his residency in trauma surgery and fellowship in critical care at the UMDNJ University Hospital in 1990. Dr. Carson continued his career in trauma and critical care for the next 10 years and then moved on to work as an emergency physician for 13 years before working as an urgent care physician for the last 13 years.

Urgent Care medicine, also known as accident and non emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An urgent care physician works during and after hours of your primary care physician to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis that does not require the emergency room.
