Having been in clinical practice since 1992, Dr. Krolick is an interventional cardiologist who is quadruple board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, endovascular medicine, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1985 when he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. He then went on to complete his internship at Sun Coast Hospital in 1986, followed by his residency and fellowship at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1989 and 1992, respectively. 

Recognized as both a national and local leader in endovascular interventions, Dr. Krolick has served as a clinical investigator on numerous drug and clinical device trials, including drug-coated balloons for treatment of peripheral vascular disease and the original drug-coated stent trials for coronary artery disease. He continues to practice noninvasive cardiology and interventional cardiology, as well as maintains a special interest in peripheral vascular disease. He has spoken at several major vascular meetings and has contributed numerous articles in such publications as The New England Journal of Medicine, as well as chapters in cardiovascular textbooks.

Interventional cardiology is the subspecialty of cardiology that deals specifically with the catheter-based treatment of heart diseases. The field includes the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, vascular disease, and acquired structural heart disease. An interventional cardiologist is a cardiologist with one to two years of additional education and training in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease, as well as congenital (present at birth) and structural heart conditions through catheter-based procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting.
