He then completed a fellowship in oral medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2007 while simultaneously doing his PhD.
He also completed a one-year internship & residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the University of Maryland Medical Systems. After completing a two-year fellowship at the University of Minnesota in oral/head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery, Dr. Patel completed a one-year fellowship in craniomaxillofacial trauma at North Memorial Health Hospital.
