Get to know Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Ryan Dobbs, who serves patients in Aurora, Colorado.

Recognized as a competent oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Dobbs works with patients at his private practice - Saddle Rock Institute - in Aurora, Colorado. He has special interests in complex maxillofacial reconstruction from acquired and congenital abnormalities. He focuses his practice on treating patients with craniofacial growth abnormalities, sleep apnea, temporomandibular joint disorders, including arthroscopy and total joint replacements, head and neck pathology and reconstruction of acquired and traumatic defects.

A native of Colorado, he completed his undergraduate and dental degrees at Creighton University, before moving to California, where he earned his medical degree at the University of California, Davis. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. 

Following the completion of his residency training, Dr. Dobbs moved to Pennsylvania and was on staff at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. While there, he was involved heavily in training oral and maxillofacial surgical residents. He then returned to Colorado where he has been the Division Chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, he served as the Chair of Dental Medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital, and has continued to train residents associated with Denver Health Medical Center.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (FAAOMS), the doctor is board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and is an active member of the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He continues to be involved in research for reconstruction of maxillofacial defects utilizing regenerative medicine techniques and advanced 3D printing for temporomandibular joint reconstruction.
