Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Minal Amin, who serves patients in Falls Church, Virginia.

As an emergency physician, Dr. Amin works with patients at Best Practices Inc., an affiliate of Inova Health located in Falls Church, Virginia. 

Inova is Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider. Its mission is to provide world-class healthcare to each person in every community it has the privilege to serve. Inova’s 19,000 team members serve more than 2 million individuals annually through an integrated network of hospitals, primary and specialty care practices, emergency and urgent care centers, outpatient services, and destination institutes.

Specializing in trauma, injuries and accidents, she has medical privileges at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Academically, Dr. Amin earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 1997. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in emergency medicine at SUNY – Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in 2004, and her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Inova Fairfax Hospital in 2007.

With over 24 years of experience in her field, she is board-certified in emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.

Emergency medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician works in an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients on an unscheduled basis.

On a more personal note, Dr. Amin is fluent in English and Gujarati.
