Dr. Lakshman is a dual-certified plastic and hand surgeon and Mommy Makeover Specialist with his own private practice, Pasadena Surgeons. Pasadena Surgeons mission statement is to help “bring out the best in you” and that “A sophisticated analysis yields beautiful results.” Dr. Lakshman has dedicated his practice to the perfection of the Mommy Make Over, a procedure combining full abdominoplasty, breast lift or augmentation, and liposuction. He brings his wealth of surgical, microvascular, hand, plastic, reconstructive and burn ICU experience to the service he provides his patients and thus, assuring the safest and most beautiful results possible.

Dr. Lakshman graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1998, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. After obtaining his medical degree, he began his training in one of the busiest trauma centers in the nation working for three years in pre-requisite general surgery residency. Afterward, Dr. Lakshman worked for a year and half with a burn and wound care fellowship at the same institution. During this time, he learned to resuscitate burn victims and treat the terrible, painful and disfiguring scars caused by burns. He spent countless days and nights in the Burn ICU with patients suffering from post-burn infections and inhalational injury.

Following his general surgery fellowship, Dr. Lakshman held a year-long hand and microvascular fellowship. Dr. Lakshman spent countless hours in the microvascular lab as well as, under the operating microscope at the hand trauma center performing vascular anastomoses on blood vessels and nerves less than 1 mm in diameter. He was also trained to restore the intricate bones, ligaments, and critical structures of the human hand and wrist when devastated by industrial injuries.

Dr. Lakshman went on to complete a two-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery. His training included craniofacial trauma, a process of restoring the structure of the facial bones and skull after car accidents and other trauma. He learned the surgical treatment and management of pediatric congenital anomalies such as cleft lip and cleft palate. He also learned to perform the full gamut of cosmetic surgery including facial rejuvenation and facelift, body contouring and reshaping.

Dr. Lakshman has contributed to numerous articles in peer reviewed scientific and plastic surgery journals and has volunteered his time teaching and training surgical residents and students. He has participated in over 20 clinical research trials designed to develop newer, safer medical devices, drugs and products. Many of these are now FDA approved and have helped improve the quality of life for many people.

When not working, Dr. Lakshman enjoys spending time with his family. Dr. Lakshman is an avid tennis player and plays acoustic and electric guitar. He is a big proponent of the whole food, plant-based, vegan lifestyle and encourages diet, exercise, and nutrition before, during, and after any surgical intervention.
