Get to know Internist Dr. Thomas F. Kelly, who serves patients in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

A board-certified internist, Dr. Kelly sees patients at Shore Community Medical, and is credentialed through Beebe Medical Center. Focusing on health promotion and disease prevention, he hopes to help his patients live a more healthful life.

Shore Community Medical is an internal medicine adult primary care medical practice in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, serving all of Sussex County. The practice follows a patient-centered approach and each patient is treated with compassion and care. Areas of concentration include primary care services, health promotion, disease prevention, patient education and diagnosis, and treatment of chronic illness.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Kelly graduated with his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1996 and finished his residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in 2000.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

After completing his education, Dr. Kelly served as Medical Director at Delaware Health and Social Services’ Stockley Center outside Georgetown and more recently as Medical Director and internist at Deer’s Head Hospital in Salisbury, Maryland.

In 2010, he founded Healthy Delawareans with Disabilities while he was working for the state of Delaware. He also served as a medical technician for the Air Force reserve for six years.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

In addition to English, Dr. Kelly is fluent in Arabic.
