After relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency in psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Yale University School of Medicine, and his fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Hawaii.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
