Dr. Matthews, a board-certified psychiatrist, serves as the Medical Director of Carson Valley Children’s Aid (CVCA) in Flourtown, Pennsylvania. She is an active participant in the integration of trauma-focused care throughout the organization, overseeing a network of clinical staff and supporting further implementation of performance improvement standards throughout the organization’s programs.
The mission of CVCA is to deliver services to children, youth, and families that ensure their safety, build on their strengths, honor their differences, and empower them to achieve their goals for success in life. Prior to joining CVCA, Dr. Matthews served as Attending Psychiatrist for the Horsham Clinic’s Partial Hospitalization Program.
Growing up in the Mt. Airy section of the city, she graduated from Central High School. After earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, she went on to complete her residency in general psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical Center – Daroff Division. This was followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
The doctor is board-certified in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.
