A reputable general surgeon, Dr. Schroeder joined Mid-Florida Surgical Associates in 2020 after relocating to Central Florida from Omaha, Nebraska.

“The focus of our practice is to provide the very best surgical care available to patients. We are committed to achieving this goal through continuing education and training in the most current robotic and laparoscopic techniques. Our practice treats our patients, nurses and staff like family. It is our belief that all patients deserve the best medical care available. Born and raised in Buchholz, Germany, Dr. Schroeder followed in his father’s footsteps, receiving his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Hamburg. During this time, he actively engaged in various research endeavors at one of Germany’s largest hernia centers.

In 2014, Dr. Schroeder made significant contributions to postgraduate research that played a pivotal role in shifting the landscape of hernia surgery towards innovative minimally invasive techniques. This accomplishment led him to Omaha, Nebraska, where he completed his surgical residency at Creighton University School of Medicine.

His dedication to excellence culminated in board certification in general surgery, a recognition bestowed upon him by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.

Imparting his expertise to fellow medical professionals, Dr. Schroeder serves as a proctor for daVinci robotic surgery.

Additionally, he is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Hernia Society, the American College of Surgeons, and the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons.

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.

Joining a team of international hernia experts to provide the highest level of surgical care to underserved patients, Dr. Schroeder has participated in humanitarian surgical missions in Paraguay and the Dominican Republic.

Happily married, he and his wife Morgan, a Central Florida native, have four children: Ella, Finn, Devin, and Landon. He enjoys time with his family, the outdoors, Bundesliga Soccer, and music.
