Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Asad Mohammad, who serves patients in New York, New York.

A skilled cardiologist, Dr. Mohammad sees patients at Mount Sinai Morningside. He specializes in heart rhythm disorders with a specific focus on catheter ablation for atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and implantation of cardiac devices such as cardiac resynchronization therapy and pacemakers/ defibrillators.

Pertaining to his educational pursuits, Dr. Mohammad earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing his residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. He went on to complete a specialty fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2019. He now continues his work as a full time faculty attending and also serves as the Associate Fellowship Program Director with active involvement in clinical research.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology, and internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, which is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

On a more personal note, Dr. Mohammad is fluent in both English and Arabic.
