Get to know Gastroenterologist Dr. Kara Anne Regan, who serves patients in Greenville, North Carolina.

An excellent gastroenterologist in Greenville, North Carolina, Dr. Regan practices at the following locations: Vidant Gastroenterology – Greenville & Vidant Medical Center.

Patients see her for a variety of concerns, including but not limited to: irritable bowel syndrome, structural disorders of the bowel, diverticular disease, colon polyps and cancer, colitis including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, and diseases of the liver and pancreas, among others. 

Prior to her current endeavours, she served as an Instructor of Medicine within the Division of Gastroenterology at the John T. Milliken Department of Medicine of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Regan graduated with her medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2008. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia Medical Center in 2011, and her fellowship in gastroenterology at Washington University in 2014.

Passionate about her profession, she is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.
