At a very early age, Dr. Jacob was aware of the life-saving benefits of medicine, inspired by his father’s work as a pharmacist at a local hospital in India, where he was born. It was then that he realized his desire for helping people through medicine, and set him on his path to making a difference in people’s lives.
At the age of 12, his family moved to the United States, and by the age of 15, he joined the workforce, learning to manage school, work, and sports. He initially entered the medical field as a pharmacy technician, and his fascination with medications and their benefits propelled him to begin his pursuit of becoming a doctor. He ultimately chose cardiology because it was innovative and ever-changing, offering more opportunities to not only save people’s lives, but to change them for the better. He went on to complete his medical internship, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in general cardiology at the University of Kansas in Kansas City in 2001, completing his final year of training in interventional cardiology with a private group doing business as Iowa Heart, P.A. at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Certified in age management medicine, he is also board-certified in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Specializing in preventative, nuclear and interventional cardiology, Dr. Jacob is a partner of The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano.
