Dr. Ahmad is an experienced pediatric cardiologist whose focus is on providing general pediatric and pediatric cardiology care to patients at Federal Way Pediatric Associates in Washington. Federal Way Pediatric Associates is a local pediatric clinic that specializes in medical care for children, adolescents, and young adults. With outpatient cardiology and inpatient pediatric hospitalist work at Montefiore Children’s Hospital and pediatric cardiac critical care experience at Children’s Hospital of New York, Dr. Ahmad is knowledgeable and skillful in providing treatment plans and consultations for a wide range of common, general and pediatric cardiology conditions. Some of the most common conditions he treats includes various forms of congenital heart diseases which may present as heart murmur, failed congenital heart disease screen in newborns, cyanotic heart disease, acquired heart disease including Kawasaki disease, rheumatic heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and various forms of cardiomyopathy. Other common conditions he treats include chest pain, palpitations, syncope, ADHD, pediatric hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, obesity, Down syndrome, Marfan’s syndrome and sports clearance in high-end athletes to prevent sudden cardiac death, as well as various arrhythmias. He also performs fetal echocardiograms in collaboration with maternal obstetrics physicians. All tests including electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, fetal echocardiogram, holter monitor, and blood pressure monitor are done on-site and results are shared with families in a timely fashion.

A graduate of Nishtar Medical University in Pakistan, Dr. Ahmad relocated to the United States to further his training. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, New York, followed by his fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

A member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics, which is an independent and nonprofit organization that was founded in 1933. It is one of the 24 certifying boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
