Dr. Walji earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine in 1976. Continuing his education, he relocated to the United States where he completed his residency in general surgery at Brown University and his residency in thoracic surgery at the Texas Heart Institute. Later, he completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital.

Dedicated to clinical excellence, he is board-certified through the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, an American surgical organization devoted to surgery of the chest.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Walji is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Western Thoracic Surgical Association.
