Can lifting weights in the gym cause my bones to become weak?
Lifting weights or resistance training can actually strengthen your bones and may minimize risk of osteoporosis. READ MORE
I am having a slight pain in my wrist. What could it be?
Could be a sprain/strain or, depending on your age, it could be arthritis. You should go for X-rays. READ MORE
My back is feeling strained. What should I do?
It is a back strain or osteoarthritis in the back. I would recommend a home exercise stretching and strengthening program for the back with light weights. If no help, then an X-ray and possibly physical therapy. READ MORE
Can a freckle reduce in size and disappear?
Freckles can develop on the skin but should not develop in the eye. Freckles do not usually go away and can get bigger. READ MORE
My knee is feeling tender and is slightly red. There is also some pain when I bend it. Should I use ice or heat?
You should use ice for inflammation in a joint. But if there is redness along with the tenderness there is concern for cellulitis (infection in the skin). You should see your physician as you may need oral antibiotics. READ MORE
Can a knee surgery help in relieving the pain due to arthritis?
I would recommend injections in the knees, bracing and physical therapy before surgery. READ MORE
Does a heel bone fracture require a surgery?
Surgery would only be needed if the fracture is displaced or if the non-displaced fracture does not heal after a few months. READ MORE
partial vs full joint replacment
A partial knee replacement can only be done if there is arthritis in only one part of the knee. If there is arthritis in two or more compartments in the knee then a total knee replacement will be needed. Pain in right arm
Sounds like it is coming from a strain in the shoulder or rotator cuff. Symptoms from the neck can radiate to the shoulder and elbow as well. I would recommend a home stretching and strengthening program along with oral NSAIDs and icing afterwards. If no help in a few weeks then you should seek treatment. READ MORE
My baby was born with twisted legs. Can this be corrected?
It depends. Sometimes casting and/or bracing may help. But sometimes, depending on the deformity, surgery may be needed. READ MORE
I am having a severe pain in my neck post an accident. What can i do?
Yes I recommend that you go get an x-ray of the neck and an evaluation. READ MORE

Your calcium and vitamin D levels should be checked along with magnesium and thyroid levels. All can contribute to weakening of bones. But get labs checked first. READ MORE
