Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Peter Laurence Kopelson, who serves patients in Beverly Hills, California.
Recognized as a prominent, award-winning dermatologist, Dr. Kopelson specializes in skin rejuvenation through cosmetic laser surgery and break-through clinical cosmetic treatments. His personal aesthetic extends beyond his refined skills as a cosmetic practitioner and physician into the design of The Kopelson Clinic, of which he is the Founder.
Focusing on restoring the skin’s youthful beauty, The Kopelson Clinic is a comprehensive cosmetic laser center in Beverly Hills, California, providing full service, state-of-the-art skin regeneration in a medical setting. Offering a myriad of advanced dermatological treatments and procedures, Dr. Kopelson works alongside Sheri G Feldman, MD, providing personalized clinical suggestions that address each patient’s specific medical and cosmetic concerns.
Although The Kopelson Clinic is an advanced cosmetic dermatological laser center, Dr. Kopelson continues to see patients who require a highly trained medical dermatologist especially for the diagnosis of skin cancers and the more complex medical diseases that manifest on the skin.
Growing up in New York City and in Beverly Hills, Dr. Kopelson attended Beverly Hills High School. He completed his undergraduate training at Columbia University where he majored in philosophy and concentrated on his pre-medical courses. He was then accepted into the New York University School of Medicine.
Whereas most medical specialists begin their specialty training after medical school and internship, Dr. Kopelson began his dermatologic training early in medical school. By working closely with a world renowned dermatologist and researcher at the New York University School of Medicine, he aided in cutting-edge investigation, wrote journal articles, and participated in the international dermatological community starting very early in his career.
Upon graduation with his medical degree, he was well prepared for his specialty training in dermatology at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. As chief resident in the dermatology division, he perfected his diagnostic skills through teaching and research, after which he opened his private practice in 1993.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), the doctor is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons.
Specializing in cosmetic procedures and laser treatments, he is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.
