Dr. Hernandez graduated with a Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 2005. Giving her over a decades worth of experience in her field. After obtaining her Doctor of Podiatric Osteopathy Degree Dr. Hernandez completed her internship with UCI Medical Center. Wanting to further her training she completed a fellowship with the UCLA Ronald Regan Medical Center and the UCI Medical Center. She is dual certified in internal medicine and nephrology. To stay up to date in her field she remains a professional member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Medical Association. Dr. Hernandez currently practices with the Southern California Kidney Associates and is affiliated with the DaVita Bastanchury Dialysis and the St. Judes Medical Center. Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys: the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation). Nephrology also studies systemic conditions that affect the kidneys, such as diabetes and autoimmune disease; and systemic diseases that occur as a result of kidney disease, such as renal osteodystrophy and hypertension. Dr. Hernandez attributes her professional success to her love for the practice of medicine, keeping up to date in the field, and her strong work ethic and great bedside manner.
