Get to know Pediatric Endocrinologist Dr. Sunita Cheruvu, who serves patients throughout the State of New Jersey.

A skilled pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Cheruvu is affiliated with BD Diabetes Center for Children and Adolescents, working with patients at their offices in Flemington, Morristown, Wayne, and Overlook, New Jersey.

The BD Diabetes Center for Children and Adolescents offers care for a variety of metabolic and hormonal disorders related to: diabetes mellitus, growth and puberty, thyroid disease, calcium and bone metabolism, adrenal disease, and sexual differentiation. The center is certified by the American Diabetes Association and is nationally recognized for the development of innovative educational and support programs for both families and health care professionals.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Cheruvu earned her medical degree from the SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2004, and completed her residency in pediatrics at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2007. She then went on to complete two consecutive fellowships in pediatric endocrinology at New York Presbyterian Hospital and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2010 and 2013, respectively.

As a testament of her continued education, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatric endocrinology is a medical subspecialty dealing with disorders of the endocrine glands such as variations of physical growth and sexual development in childhood, diabetes, and many more. A pediatric endocrinologist is a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of children with diseases of the endocrine system such as diabetes and growth disorders.
