Get to know Family Physician Dr. Kevin G. Madden, who serves patients in Escondido, California.

A trusted family physician, Dr. Madden is very proud to be a member of the Kaiser Permanente community. He works within the Family Practice Department at Kaiser Permanente Escondido Medical Offices.

“I feel that healthy living (which includes diet and exercise) as well as preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy. But I’m also here to help you when you are sick. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you are actively involved in taking care of your health” expressed the doctor. 

Born in Pocatello, Idaho, Dr. Madden earned his undergraduate degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He studied medicine at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, obtained his medical degree from The University of the State of New York, and completed his internship and residency in family medicine in Las Cruces, New Mexico. 

Thereafter, he attained board certification through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

On a more personal note, Dr. Madden thrives by attempting to live a balanced life. He has a family and enjoys exercising, traveling, and staying active. He speaks both English and Spanish.
