The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in 1985, followed by internships and residencies in Internal Medicine at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and Miriam Hospital. He further honed his expertise with a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Louisiana State University Health in 1997.

Passionate about his profession, Dr.Mejia is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
