Curt Samlaska, MD, FAAD, FACP, began his medical career in the military at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He completed his Dermatology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he received extensive training in Mohs surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and exotic disorders. Dr. Samlaska has published over 20 articles pertaining to exotic disorders and genetic disorders such as Proteus syndrome and subcutaneous emphysema. He returned to Tripler Army Medical Center and served as Chief of Services after his dermatology training. It was during this time that Dr. Samlaska was instrumental in the implementation of telemedicine for the Department of Defense. He is currently a national lecturer on various dermatologic topics and a participator in various product studies (ESPRIT study by Abbott).
