Hello, It's really nice that you are trying to care about your friend with alcohol problem. Cough definitely is a serious symptom especially in a person with alcohol abuse. Differential diagnosis is quite broad and no reason to list all of them in front of you. Your friend needs work-up for his cough based on not only his bad alcohol habit, but also based on his medical history, whether he is a smoker, etc. Volume of tests could be quite big. Ultrasound interpretation?
Hello, I'm not trained in ultrasound interpretation, but my concern is why almost nothing is done since you see blood in urine for 2 months? If you were my patient, I would be interested in urine analysis and urine culture, Gynecologist consult, and kidney ultrasound and cystoscopy by urologist. If you were more advanced in age and a smoker, I would put cystoscopy as a priority. I wish you luck and hope that you will get treatment and my concerns turned out to be less serious problem.
